Tell Our Stories is produced by FRIENDS of Canadian Broadcasting.
FRIENDS of Canadian Broadcasting is a grassroots citizen’s advocate for Canada’s cultural sovereignty and democracy. We represent the voices of more than 365,000 Canadians who care deeply about Canadian storytelling and journalism.
Canada enjoys a distinct cultural and democratic identity that joins us together and sets us apart. In every generation, vigilant citizens have fought against powerful interests to carve out space for Canadian stories. Since 1985, FRIENDS has worked tirelessly to protect and defend our public broadcaster and its quality and trustworthy Canadian news and entertainment. Today, FRIENDS is also leading the fight for a fair playing field for Canadian content in the digital age. We’re keeping the pressure on Ottawa to end the free ride for foreign streaming services like Netflix, Disney, Apple and Amazon — they must contribute their fair share to the production of Canadian news and stories. Canadian culture, democracy, and sovereignty hang in the balance.
We do all this without taking a single cent from any corporation or political party. We’re not affiliated with any particular broadcaster or news outlet. FRIENDS is 100% funded by individuals who believe our shared story makes us who we are. Join the fight today.
